Zombie Cliché Lookout:
The audience isn’t stupid, and they expect that the characters they’re watching have more than two brain cells to rub together too. That means when someone comes up with an obvious bad idea, another character needs to call them out on it. Since the writer wants the characters to make the stupid decision, they will invariable make the voice of reason the least trusted or respectable in the bunch. The character’s reasonable argument is quickly cast aside thanks to their unrelated past actions. The nice thing about this technique is that it works pretty well in real life too.
