Bonus Feature Cliché Lookout: This Can’t Be Good

Remember Han Solo and those poor stormtroopers he was chasing? Well he just rounded the corner and ran right into re-enforcements. Metaphorically speaking, of course. There are no stormtroopers in this comic (not yet, at any rate), nor any Han Solos for that matter.

Bad guys can get away with a lot, but sooner or later, the law is bound to catch up with them. At least in fiction; in real life some pretty heinous people have gotten through life without ever having to pay the piper.

About this Episode:

Okay, as you might guess, this is the beginning of the end for The Bonus Features episodes. I’ve had quite a bit of fun with this, so much so that the project that I had envisioned ending after a couple of weeks has lasted for twenty-eight episodes so far. But all good things (or bad things, if you didn’t happen to like this feature) must come to an end.

We’ll see a couple more episodes of this feature, and then it’s back to the main comic three days a week. I hope you guys enjoyed this little sideline into a fictionalized behind the scenes of Bricks of the Dead.

Other News:

Remember Yatkuu’s incredible MOC of Shaun of the Dead‘s Winchester Tavern? The one I keep bugging everyone to support? It’s now got over 6,000 votes on on CUUSOO, thanks in part to being mentioned by Simon Pegg (Shaun himself) on Conan this week. Here’s a clip (jump ahead to 3:40):

The LEGO® Winchester needs 10,000 votes to be considered as an official set, so if you haven’t voted yet, please do. It only takes a couple minutes to register and support this fantastic creation. And as an added bonus, it shows LEGO® how interested we all are in more zombie-themed sets. That’s a Win-Win (yes, pun intended).

  1. How did he find out? I meant Simon Pegg. As for the defense attorney I think he will be able to bribe also. Or that horde can get some food.

    • I think Simon Pegg found out via Twitter, but Yatkuu can probably shed more light on that than me.

  2. Personally, I’d like to see these bonus features continue! 😀
I don’t care what the for or against votes were like, this is gripping webcomic drama unfolding backstage! 😉

  3. That’s a very weird laugh at the end of the video there. ”Nya-nya-nya-nya-na!”

    • That it is. Pegg is awesome.

  4. Simon Pegg <3 Loved hearing about his Greek Ghost xP Totally adding him on Twitter now! I hope they make that set–I WILL BUY IT SO FAST!

As for the bonus feature–dun dun dun! S@#$ just got real! 😀

    • “As for the bonus feature–dun dun dun! S@#$ just got real!”

      My thoughts exactly! lol

      • “As for the bonus feature–dun dun dun! S@#$ just got real!”

        This made me smile.

    • Oh and Dave is so nonchalant. About to be busted and still has a smile on his face. lol

      • That’s the downside to limited number of LEGO faces, especially with facial hair.

Of course, I’ve got a full beard these days, so maybe it’s time to change things up anyway.

  5. Thank you Dave for your support! We are now at 7500 supporters and the Win is the #1 ranked project on the site!
It’s the sprint to the finish line, help us spread the word and this will become a reality!

On a side note, we also have a treat for the Shaun of the Dead fans as today we publish the exclusive interview of a Zombie who was in the movie, check it out here, it’s pure gold.

    • It’s amazing how fast this thing is getting supporters. It picked up 1000 and change between when I wrote this and now. Incredible!

Hopefully you’ll hit 10K by the end of next week.

  6. Yes, bribe him Dave. It will be mildly sad to see the Bonus Features end….but

Maybe another bonus feature round could include alternate scenes and deleted scenes.

Winchester Tavern! Whoot! I will buy! I’ve placed my vote on Cuusoo already!

  7. oh no. Quick, Dave! Throw your reality-bending powers of doom at them! and if that doesn’t work, a ton of cash! And if THAT doesn’t work, give them a “free tour of the [s]Zombie[/s] Staff Recreation Area”. Do something! They can’t shut you down!

  8. “I’m watching you, Wazowski. Always watching. Always. “

    • Hah

      • Gotta be in honor of the FBI guys in “Die Hard.”

        “No relation.”

        • Well spotted, sir, well spotted.

        • Greatest Christmas movie of all time. I know it well.

duck yeah is how i am keeping it clean for kids

      • This is just so cool. I’m incredibly happy for Yatkuu, and I can’t wait to see if LEGO is able to use the idea. I certainly hope so.

  11. Dave, this is where you REALLY need to break the fourth wall. As in, we see your hand coming in and plucking Mr. Finch off the set!

    • Hah, that’s a pretty awesome idea.

  12. Dave, question, where did you get the ton-fa baton for your highly intelligent security guard?

    • Those are from BrickForge. I’ve got about a half-dozen of them. Really nice item.

      • ok I was just wondering, I am planning to make a lego comic, and I would like to know where to go to get pieces

  13. Oh my god. Finnaly a reson to finish my zombie apocalypse survival kit.
