Zombie Cliché Lookout:
People are kept in check by a lot of factors like rules, ethics, and potential damage to their reputation. In a zombie survival situation (or any survival situation, for that matter), these factors will gradually become less and less important as the person becomes more and more desperate to survive. A person who would never even think about stealing a grape at the supermarket might find that he now has no qualms about throwing a brick through the window of a shop and looting whatever is inside.

He seems to imply that everything will go back to normal, but we as readers should know better than to expect that, particularly if it’s a good storyline. 😉
That’s just Murphy being in denial. Don’t worry, things aren’t going back to normal anytime soon.
Usually government officials don’t care about destroying people’s things as long as it serves a purpose or benefits them. If I were Murphy I would have busted the door to see if there were any survivors and then if no one was home, ran sack the house to survive! 🙂
Hah, you got that right. I envision Murphy as a bit more sensitive lad than that, however.
Haha, come on Murphy, what’s wrong with you? It’s a zombie apocalypse, no one would care about a broken door! 😀
As an employee in the public sector, I’m surprised Murphy has never heard the phrase “It’s easier to get forgiveness than permission”. Ah well.
well this can all be fixed with a big bomb but to bad about the pepole defending >=)
That assumes the zombie problem is local in scope. Otherwise it would have to be a very, very big bomb.
Eep. I don’t want to think about the ramifications of THAT bomb. Besides, Bunker Control usually has qualms about setting that one off in these situations…
