Zombie Cliché Lookout:
The thing about zombies is that they don’t really elicit a lot of sympathy and support from people. That means that you’ll be able to find at least some common ground with anyone so long as you also hate the ghouls that are running around, trying to eat everyone. That also means that, every now and then, you might bumble your way into good luck and get saved by people who just like going out and killing zeds. Of course people who like to just go out and kill zeds might not be the best kind of folks to throw in with, so bear that in mind.

Dave i think if you consult a dictionary, you’ll find it’s “elicit”, not “illict”. Illict sounds a lot like the kind of people Sam’s with right now, though! 😀
Aw hell, that’s fixed now. Thanks for pointing it out.
I really need to stop typing these things up so quickly.
In the crazies which to me was kinda like a zombie movie people killing the infected for fun were pretty dangerous too and wound up being infected later on
These people seem to know what they’re doing. For one thing, they’re using guns, and since they appear to be off-screen, they could be using a sniper rifle with a long range to pick them off with little fear of zombies finding them.
We’ll be seeing them on Monday. I’m curious how many of you guys think these are the prisoners we saw a while back.
“Think?” I don’t think, I go “Who else could it possibly be?” 😀 Don’t disappoint me, Dave! 😀
Well I could always introduce more characters. Maybe a robot. A kid. A monkey. These are all time tested character archetypes.
Oh, hey! Live action (well, as live as it gets on a comments page) talk! 😀
Hah, close enough anyway.
I enjoyed the Crazies quite a bit. I still need to check out the original.
Loved that movie!
Love the flash back. Just wondering… did you shoot the episodes in chronological order and then edit them into flash backs?
I should have shot them sequentially, but I didn’t have time to. As a result, you’re going to see some zombie bodies move around. Continuity be damned.
You could always put it down to bloated corpse actions. And since they were turned into zeds which then had their heads killed, I’d say the natural forces of nature are just reasserting themselves! 😀
Hah, it’s just that the gases building up in the corpses are making them shift around. That’s all!
You know, you should start working on a live chat box. 😀 Would be fun to bounce some live casual talk around! 😀
It’s an interesting idea, but here’s my problem with a live chat:
On every website I visit that has one, there’s almost never anyone using it, even on popular websites. I think they just make the site look kind of dead, even when there’s a good community of commenters here.
Now if you guys disagree, and think you’d get a lot of use out of a live chat box, let me know and I’ll see if I can find a decent one to try out.
I haven’t seen a chat that doesn’t have that perv who wants als of all the chics in the chat.
Yeah, that’s always a big problem.
There’s writing in that there blood >.>
Lol, you’re right! 😀 It realy does look like there are some letters in that bloodsplat! 😀
Hah. Any guesses as to what it says?
At first sight, seems to me that it’s something like “?OMA”
Can’t figure the first ‘letter’ 😀
What do you see, Nekro? Any idea?
I was thinking something like “NOHA”, which, yeah, a splatter of blood isn’t funny, so no ha kind of makes sense… if you’re really liberal in your definition of what makes sense.
Hmm, so it realy WAS a flashback countdown.
No “why the hell am I naked” yet. Well, maybe later 😀
Maybe Sam enjoys being naked. It’s liberating.
Aye. Thats what I said at my trial.
The defense rests.
Yeah, maybe 😀
Hey I just noticed the blood spatter effect didn’t get cut off at panel 3 but carried on into panel 4! Lovely! 😀
Thank you, thank you.
It’s always good to have friends in high places…..especially with high powered rifles!
Wow I just realized how long it’s been since I last visited! How’s it going?
Hello sir of automotive theft
How are ya?
You’ll have to stop by more often. I guess we all just figured you were serving time for, you know, stealing cars.
… This joke is never going away is it? 😛
car theft is no laughing matter
Hello again Dave,
I have just a couple more questions, about the comic this time.
1. Where do you get the heads for zombies (other than that big brickarms weapon pack? I just noticed in panel 3 that the zombie’s head is actually the Neimodian’s head from a LEGO Star Wars set. But what about the others? And where can I get them?
2. What program do you use for editing the photos for this comic (eg. GIMP, Inkscape, paint), how do you make the bloodsplatters, and what do you use to make the speech bubbles?
1. I get the heads from any place I can find. Harry Potter troll heads which I got from BrickLink. The official zombie head from the Collectible minifigs. The zombie pirate heads from Pirates of the Carribean. Frankenstein’s head. That Star Wars head you mentioned. Plus a couple of customs. Citizen Brick sells a nice one, for instance.
2. For editing I use Photoshop. The blood spatters are just brushes with a few effects added to them to create texture. Speech bubbles are pretty simple, just a rounded rectangle with a tail drawn in with the pen tool. Merge the layers together and add a few effects like dropping the opacity a bit, adding a stroke, and a bit of a bevel.
Anyone latched onto “American Horror Story?”
I am 3 episodes behind…pretty interested so far.
Effin love that show!! Really good and very twisted.
I know why they took Sam’s clothes now…. they’re hockey fans and wanted his gear!
Too bad they forgot the helmet. They’re really going to regret that.
A lot of the books reviewed on this site come from apocalyptic publisher Permuted Press who are the best in the business. Pretty damn fan friendly as well. They have discounted some best sellers heavily to $2.99 and are even giving some away for free. So if you have ever wanted to check out some of these apocalyptic books now is your chance.
Sweet deals here, everyone!
Hey, what song is playing Sam’s radio?
Let’s say… “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard” by Paul Simon. Zombies love Paul Simon.
Sweet choice! lol
I love the song. Always makes me think of the montage in Royal Tennebaums.
My favorite cool weather outfits are these two adidas warm up suits I own. I call them my Royal Tennebaum uniforms.
Are they red?
1 is and while also being a zip up throwback leaf design. Thank you amazon.com.
The other is modern black.
I’m going to go ahead and edit that since I am not sure who reads these comments…
Did you see what I previously typed?
It’s hilarious to hear him talk about it. He puts on this awesome Mel Brooks accent.
I got the comment in an email, yeah.
Awesome! Nice blood effects, as always Dave. Also, nice use of the Star Wars Nute Gunray head for a zombie!
…boy, I have quite a lot of catching up to do…
Thank you sir. Best get crackin’ plowing through that archive.
