Zombie Cliché Lookout:
In most zombie stories, characters rarely talk about how absolutely disgusting their daily lives have become. People are generally much more concerned about their daily survival than worrying about how icky it is that they are literally surrounded by hundreds of dessicated corpses (walking and otherwise). When a character does point this out, you can usually safely assume that it will either be a women, or a stereotypically effeminate homosexual character. Often, a more macho character (sometimes this is just someone posturing, not unlike Stewart) will make a big show of how he’s not bothered by any of it.

This is probably a trope that can use some updating to bring it in line with modern sensibilities.

  1. You wouldn’t want that skeleton to come to life right about now … 😀

    Or maybe … 😉

    • No you wouldn’t. Of course that poor skeleton is missing a leg, so it would have a hard time getting around.

Free Comic Idea: Reanimated Mobility-Challenged Skeleton.

  2. pssst he’s hitting on her…

  3. Hmm, hmm… Not only Stew is a blonde, he’s a romantic soul, too 😀 He likes candles! 😀

    • I love that candles = romantic.

      • or a small campfire…:D

        • That’s probably romantic and rugged.

        • Of course, the real trick would be matching Stewart’s personality to Cheryl’s, unless you want a “house on fire” style of romance. Literally on fire, I mean! 😀

        • That would be a rough relationship.

  4. I can imagine Stew saying: “Ooooh! Fiesty!” in the near future.

    • Hah! We shall see.

  5. How are candles “romatic?” And how did you spell it twice without the ‘n?’

Perhaps you meant to say, “candles = aeromatic, which is very true. 😉

I agree, I definitely thought Stew was hitting on her. It may be a good idea, I mean it’s not like they’ll have the chance to get “romantic” later on if one of them gets eaten, or zombified.

Perhaps you should work the dilemma of love into this, could be interesting!

    • Wow, how did I manage the same typo twice and a half-hour apart? Yeesh. I’ll just go and fix those now.

I’m not sure if it’s going to be a romantic angle I’m playing up, but possibly something related.

  6. anyone notice that stew is wearing the camping guy’s head? its got the shades and everything! i wanted his spear though.

    • Yeah, I wish I would have chosen a different head for Clark. Ah well.

  7. Heh! The blur in the last panel makes it look like he’s grinning. Given that he’s watching her as she walks away, it kind of makes me think he’s checking out her arse or something.

    • Stew does seem to have a bit of a thing for Cheryl.
