Bonus Feature Cliché Lookout: Bribery
Bribery is fantastic, isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, it’s no extortion, but when you absolutely, positively have to not get properly investigated by the police after accidentally killing one of your actors in a shoot due to pure negligence, then bribery will get the job done.
I can’t cite any specific examples of this; I can’t recall anything myself, and my Google-Fu is rather weak on the subject. However, you just know that there are all sorts of shady things going on behind the scenes of your favorite films, television shows, books, comics, and games.
How else can you explain how brilliant stories get little to no interest, while garbage is constantly pushed in our faces? Market research, you say? Business folk running creative industries, you add? All right, maybe that makes a little bit more sense than some giant, faceless conspiracy.
But still…
Site News:
There’s been a death in my family and I am going to have to travel for the funeral. I’m going to try to get next week’s comics scheduled early (I’ve let my buffer lapse recently due to other projects), however there is a chance that I’ll have to skip Monday.
I’ll do my damnedest to have it ready. I’d hate to have a hole in my schedule, especially after taking the week between Christmas and New Years odd. If I don’t get the opportunity to complete the episode, I’d like to apologize in advance.
But if I do get it scheduled, yay me.
About this Episode:
The drama between the two paramedics continues unabated in the background of this strip. Sort of a little story within a story, if you will. How much longer will it go on? Only time will tell. Or maybe next week will be the last of it. Either/or.
Hmmm, that face looks oddly familiar! 😀 Mind you, if he took a bribe for a single $100 or 2 in a briefcase, he’s easily paid off! I’d have held out for a crate full of money myself! 😀
hahahahahaha! Perhaps he is bribed so often he just takes installments. lol
Yeah, that’s the drawback to the money piece. It’s just a little too big.
But it’s also thick, so I like to imagine that this was a whole stack of 100s.
Those two in the background remind me of Enter and Delete from Lego Island. I hope they aren’t like them when they finally get the bodies in the ambulance;
“Can’t go without this” “Or this!” “Don’t forget to pack the shark!” “What if we need to post a letter?!” *Throws in post box*
I never saw/played LEGO island. Sounds pretty fun though.
Ow, I’m sorry to hear about the dead in your family 🙁
Anyway, great episode 😀
And the first paragraph of the Cliché lookout is very funny 😀
Thanks Adelaide
So sorry about your loss. Funerals suck. *hug*
Thank you
BEST BONUS FEATURE YET!!
Hah. I still like the continuity one myself.
I like the argument that goes on in the back… my sympathy for your loss Dave.
Thank you, sir.
My condolences to you and yours.
I know I can wait patiently while you get other stuff taken care of.
As to the suitcase, it can only hold one “$100” piece in it, so it’s the idea that it’s filled to the brim is all that’s needed. Still… very well done and excellent.
I’ve been eyeballing the new sets in the stores and I keep looking at the Ambulance one to consider next for my collection.
Thanks Silver Fox. I do like the new ambulance. It could be improved upon, and the beauty of LEGO is that I can do just that.
genius!!!!!!
A loophole in the criminal justice system.
We still need to get rid of dea fezz, shea! Bribery is awesome.
Whatever works, right?
My condolences Dave, take as long as you need 🙂
Much obliged, sir.
Thats why it pays to be rich right 😉
It would help, that’s for sure.
Dave no need to post next weeks comic early. I’m very sorry and also my condolences
I got the comic out on time. I’ll have to circle back at some point for the commentary.
Here’s something you might find interesting Dave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI0AlQiGBFI
The Briefcase Conspiracy
Sure, it doesn’t have anything to do with zombies (even though it’s called MeatSpace), but it was made using LEGO bricks and is somewhat relevant to THE BRIEFCASE CLICHE.
Here’s another thing I found interesting; in the background, you can see the two medics arguing.
Oh I forgot to read the rest of this blog. #$^*!
Hah! Don’t worry Larry; it happens to the best of us.
That’s pretty funny. I hadn’t watched Meatspace before. I might have to check out some more.
I’m sorry for your loss.
Btw–I love that face too! I used it for my Military commercial I made for News 6 a long while back. It’s a great face! :3
Haha, this one made me laugh!
