There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

The Zombie Short Film:

This week’s LEGO Zombie creation, “Undying Love” by Omar Hauksson, is another non-LEGO creation, this one a short film that I think is quite well done.

So What’s Going On?

We’ve got a classic setup here: a lone survivor goes about his day to day life, getting by but constantly mourning the loss of his wife/girlfriend. I love the beginning of this short because it demonstrates a lot of the day-to-day stuff the survivor needs to do, but usually isn’t exciting enough to show in a film. I also really liked how we get little glimpses of his security system, including the wooden door barricades.

Let’s Talk About the Zombies

Spoilers Ahead! Make sure you’ve watched the short before reading the next paragraph.

So the big surprise in this short, which I imagine most of us figured out before the end, is that the wife/girlfriend is in the basement, and now a zombie. Our “hero” “saves” an innocent woman, and we think that perhaps he’ll be able to move on with his life, and then the rug gets pulled out from under us. It’s not exactly a new twist, but it’s quite well done.

Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.

  1. Nice one Dave! The question that comes to mind is what would we do if we were in this situation…

    • Oh I shudder to think what I would do in the situation. I couldn’t handle losing my family.
