There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.
The Zombie Creation:
This week’s LEGO Zombie creation, “How to Clear and Office Full of Zombies” by AUSBOOST, is yet another video, and yet another creation the features zero LEGO. This one was brought to my attention by Greg (AKA Yatkuu), who said “Here is a fun zombie short. The too many close-up on the actress’ behind are not really necessary, but I think you’ll like the improvised weaponry!” I’d have to say he’s 100% correct on both parts. Check it out:
So What’s Going On?
Let’s get meta for a minute, shall we? This video was created as part of an advertising campaign. AUSBOOST is an Australian mobile phone company, and this is a campaign to help them sell more products and services. Now, I don’t know how much I like zombies getting co-opted into advertising, but it’s hard to complain when it’s done like this.
The story itself focuses on a scantily clad young women raiding an office full of zombies to gather supplies, mostly chargers for phones, but I’ll ignore that. The majority of the video is just zombie smashing fun, and I love the fact that the survivor uses the blades from a couple paper cutters as her primary offense. I don’t, however, understand the point of the fire extinguisher, other than adding a cool fog effect to the visuals. This is more music video than short film, so enjoy it for what it is and try to to apply too much logic to it.
Let’s Talk About the Zombies
This video features some of my favorite kind of zombies: office zombies! I don’t know why, but I always like to see zombies dressed for work. I guess I’m just weird like that.
Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.
