There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.
The Zombie Creation:
This week’s LEGO Zombie creation, “28 Seconds Later” by Damien Sung, is another non-LEGO creation. This is a short film that Damien shot while he was working on the set of the film 28 Weeks Later. According to Damien, he did this in his downtime, using as many resources he found laying around the set.
So What’s Going On?
We see a sole survivor, garbed in a hazardous material suit and ga smask, and carrying a rifle. He’s exploring and area overrun with the infected, and appears to be afraid and scattered. This suggests to me that he is perhaps the last of a group of people who were attacked and overwhelmed by the infected. To further support this hypothesis, I would cite the fact that he doesn’t realize his rifle in unloaded until he actually needs to use it, presumably because he used up all the ammo in a panic earlier.
Let’s Talk About the Zombies
The zombies here are based on the infected from the 28 X Later series of films and comics. That means they become infected within seconds of being exposed to infected blood or saliva, and become immediately enraged and violent.
