Zombie Creation: DED Talk

There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

The Zombie Creation:

This week’s LEGO Zombie creation, “DED Talk” by Official Comedy, isn’t build out of LEGO (although that would be pretty awesome). Instead, it’s a parody of TED Talks, which are a series of short lectures on a variety of topics that you can view online for free. TED Talks are awesome; I’m a huge fan and thus love the setup for this parody. If you haven’t seen any Ted Talks yet, do youself a favor and check out the TED Talk official site.

DED Talk - a TED Talk for Zombies

So What’s Going On?

DED Talk uses the classic TED setup in order to give “death-hacking” tips to zombies, or at least that’s how it seems at first. Of course, it’s all revealed to be an elaborate zombie-killing setup at the end.

When it comes to aping the TED format, this video absolutely nails it. This completely feels like a TED talk in the post-apocalyptic world, which is pretty darn cool in my book. I particularly enjoyed the screen that’s suspended above the stage by chains, as well as the rubble scattered across the stage.

Let’s Talk About the Zombies

The zombie’s here are a bit different from the norm, necessitated by the format. I’ve never been a fan of thinking zombies, but it works for the joke here. Obviously, these are zombies that have mental faculties. They can reason, they can think, and they can strategize. Of course, they can also get outsmarted by the living.

Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.

  1. It was amusing but the end killed it for me.
