Zombie Cliché Lookout:
The phrase “It’s not the end of the world” has become such a permanent fixture of our lexicon that we’re probably poorly equipped to deal with “the end” in a literal sense. We’re conditioned to use the expression to put a problem into reasonable terms. So when someone points out that civilization as we know it is in fact coming to a rapid end, we won’t know what to say.
We’d likely quote a particular R.E.M song first…
Hah, I’ve been waiting for someone to say that all morning. Thanks for obliging.
Who wouldn’t quote “Man in the Moon” when faced with disaster? 😉
Well now I feel fooling; I was talking about “What’s the Frequency Kenneth”.
Shouldn’t be Stewart talking to Murphy (and facing him) in the first frame? Looks like he is talking to Shannon 😉
But great strip, anyway, I especially like the last frame – it looks realy good! 🙂
Like so many blowhards before him, Stewart is addressing the room in general 🙂
OK, then 🙂
this no the end of the world posibly end of humanity but not the world
That’s true, Mani. How self-centered we are to equate the end of humanity with the end of the world, as though we’re all that matters.
Dave, were there supposed to be one or two comics this week? If the posting dates on your initial comments are correct, I count one new comic this week. If not, forget I asked! 😉
Two, but the other one doesn’t come out until tomorrow morning.
*slaps forehead* I knew it had to be something logical. 😉
