Zombie Cliche Lookout: The Assist
At the risk of beating a dead (zombie?) horse, cooperation is your most valuable asset when it comes to surviving the zombie apocalypse, or practically any other emergency scenario. Don’t get me wrong, having someone to help isn’t going to save you if you’re panicking, making stupid decisions, or simply not doing anything to better your situation, but it can be just the thing to put you over the top if things are tight.
About this Episode:
We haven’t been here for a while, so I kind of forgot how much I like the combination or orange and brown I used in these sets. Yeah, it’s a bit much for a house in real life, but man does it look cool. I do, however, wish I’d put a little more work into the flooring. That blue baseplate just isn’t quite cutting it.
Other News:
We have two items of other news today. First, this will be the only episode for the week, as I will be taking the rest of the week off for the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US.
Second, I’m going to be hosting a book give-away soon, so keep your eyes out for more details in another week or so.
Discussion Question: Thanksgiving
Since I’m taking the remainder of the week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, I figured we might as well have a Thanksgiving themed question, but with a little twist. Instead of what you, the reader are thankful for, pick one of the characters in the comic and talk about what they should be thankful for. These are people in horrible situations, many of whom have lost loved ones and whose worldview has been completely shattered. Despite all that, there’s bound to still be something to help keep them going.
“At the risk of being a dead (zombie?) horse,” – are you sure you didn’t mean to write “beating” instead of being? 😉
As for it being a zombie horse, in this webcomic there is no question: It would most definitely be a zombie horse! 😉
Fixed, and right you are!
Regarding the blue baseplate, I tend to think of it as carpet. There’s an Anderson’s advertisement in the city I live, where some old lady talks about the carpet someone put in her house that looked so weird. Her daughter talks about the fact that it was that very lady who chose that carpet she now doesn’t like anymore! Ironic, yeah, I know! 😀
As to how it relates to Ted and Vicky, well, nobody’s perfect, one of them undoubtedly chose that carpet or floor tiling for their color scheme, and I’ll bet it was a while ago, too! 😉 So it’s all good, just don’t swap it out, because it doesn’t need changing! 😉 It relates perfectly to a real-life situation. Oh, and I totally meant to say Andersen’s, not what I wrote above. 😀
Indeed they did. We’ll blame it on their poor personal taste.
Carpet was exactly what I was going for, but in hindsight, I wish I would have gone for a more neutral color.
As for Thanksgiving, I would imagine a zombie’s idea of Thanksgiving would be people all trussed up with turkey trimmings. Well, they might, if they could think! 😉
Hah! Nice twist on the discussion question.
Ted and Vicky are likely thankful that critiquing their interior decorating choices has become a low priority in the zombie apocalypse.
Enjoy the holiday Dave.
Hah! You too, Mick.
I’ll go with Jeff here. The guy who hold the zombies back when Ted and his guys escaped the studios (back in the 20-30s something episode I guess) The guy sacrificed himself to an horrible death to buy them some time to flew… And he used a chainsaw… How cool.
We remember you Jeff!
That guy was going to become a zombie anyway, so probably would’ve turned right as the zombies got on him and is now one of them! 😉
As for Episode 30, well Cheryl and the testosterone she tripped over that some guys left lying around is still alive and well – some of it at least!

As for the episode Ted and the other guys from the studio were seen in, I think it all started not long after that episode. 😀
Well that was nice of him anyway… LOL
He chose the horrible death over the clean “Let’s put a bullet in your head” one. He got ripped up, to me he deserves a little thank you. 😀
