Zombie Cliche Lookout: A Little Appreciation
If there’s one thing that’s always going to hold true about people in a zombie survival situation, it’s that they’re going to get into trouble, and they’re going to get desperate. People in general tend to be pretty independent and self-sufficient, with obvious exceptions, of course. Most of us don’t like asking for help, and will generally only do so when we run out of every other option. Now, when you throw a bunch of flesh eating zombies into the mix, people will generally be a little more willing to ask for help. After all, very few people want to get eaten alive. Oh, and if their family is involved, people will swallow their pride a lot sooner.
The problem is, help isn’t always available. In fact, most people who might normally be able to help are having their own zombie-related crises to deal with. After a while, there will simply be a lot fewer people in general, and those that are left might not be as helpful as they were before the zombies showed up and started eating everyone in sight.
About this Episode:
The expressions between this comic and the last one don’t exactly match up, but what I’m going for is that this conversation, and the discussion between Michael and Joy are taking place at the same time. No one is too happy about this development, it seems.
Discussion Question: What Do You Want to See in 2015?
I’m hoping that 2015 will be the best year Bricks of the Dead has had to date, and I’m planning to put a fair bit of work into making that happen. But here’s the deal: I have a few ideas on how to make that happen, but you guys are the ones who really matter here. So what do you want to see on this site? That it works better on mobile devices? More LEGO and zombie related news and articles? A different schedule? More stuff from people who aren’t me?
I’m planning on creating a list of everyone’s ideas, and then maybe doing another poll to see which ones pull the most interest, so please don’t be shy with your suggestions here.
More complicated than what? Either Inez is being an idiot, or is going emo on them, but needs to be reigned in regardless.
I think Inez is going to have to face the reality that Cheryl couldn’t save two people at once, even if Cheryl would have liked to. It just doesn’t work that way and the sooner that Inez realizes this and pulls her head in, the better. It also looks like she’s either going to wind up being sent off on her own, or will become, in her mind at the very least, alienated to the rest of the group and might end up leaving without telling anyone and taking some supplies they’re going to need, which will really not go well concerning her standing with the group.
Hah, excellent points. I think Inez is sort of spinning on her own little crazy train.
On a totally separate note, I notice you haven’t had any typo corrections. Have I been doing better?
Hi everyone, what a great start to 2015! 😀
I think that the comic is doing brilliantly without any additional improvements, though I do miss the YouTube game-plays that ended last year. And that is all!
Yesterday I got round to photographing some more MOC cars, you can see them here!

I really like the lighting on this shot, TheBeefThief!
As far as gaming on YouTube goes, I’m planning to pick that up again soon. Unfortunately,. I had to abandoned Lone Survivor because of some recording mishaps. Since you can’t to manual saves in that, I can’t go back to re-record what I did. It really pissed me off.
I love your strip. It’s my favorite on all my comic bookmarks where I start my morning, but none of what you mentioned would necessarily be an enhancement. My vote is for a shake-up to the setting. Perhaps it’s time the cabin goes the way of Hershel’s farm…
Thanks, Ballina!
Yeah, I don’t plan to stick around the cabin forever, besides, it’s getting to be time to check in with some of our other characters.
It’s my favorite comic too. I only come here for the comic. I do watch the other stuff, but it’s not any incentive to come over more… keep on doing with the comic what you’re doing now.
One thing maybe, which was mentioned already… maybe rotate the characters a bit more…. but that’s just a small thing, really
Thanks for your kind words, FL.
I do need to do shorter story arcs. That’s something I keep trying to do, and then falling off the wagon.
Glad you asked about the typos. So far, so good, I haven’t seen any. 😀 But I also would encourage other readers to check for typos as I obviously don’t spot all of them the whole time! 😀
Outstanding!
Lone Survivor was a great game. It’s just a shame that the game doesn’t have save points that the player can go back to.
I think Lego should make cars that are a bit more like the ones I designed on Flickr, the police cruisers & ambulance can fit 4 standard minifigures inside of them!
It was, I was pretty bummed out about it. Maybe I’ll have to revisit it at some point.
I completely agree on your car designs. They’re simple, well designed, and much better scaled.
