LEGO Creation: Metro 2033

There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

The Zombie Creation:

This week’s LEGO Zombie creation, “Metro 2033” by Fianat, isn’t a zombie MOC, but a post-apocalyptic one. It’s drawn from the novel Metro 2033, which has a couple of sequels as well as video game adaptations.

So What’s Going On?

Metro 2033 tells the tale of a Russia sometime after a cataclysmic nuclear war. The surface world is destroyed and heavily irradiated, but survivors live on in the subways below the surface. This creation is a build of the home of the novel’s main character, Artym.

There’s a lot to like about this build, starting with overall presentation. I love that it’s framed in, but even the frame is partially destroyed. The station itself is immediately recognizable as a subway, from the small tiles on the wall to the gently curved roof. On top of that, the creation is packed with details that show the way life carries on in the metro, long after the world has ended.

Let’s Talk About the Zombies

To the best of my knowledge, there are no zombies in the Metro 2033 universe, but there are lots of other monsters, from the freakish mutants created from the radiation to the evil people who seek to control what’s left of humanity, Metro has monsters aplenty.

Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.
