LEGO Zombie Creation: The First Encounter

There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

The Zombie Creation:

This week’s LEGO Zombie creation, “Zombie: The First Encounter” by MexicanZombie, is a blend of zombie survival and apocalego, which hits a number of my favorite build genres. It doesn’t hurt that there are also a number of shots in this series, which each open up a new aspect of the small story being told here. Make sure you click through and check out the rest.

So What’s Going On?

A lone survivor, armed with a shotgun, is trying to get past the small horde of zombies outside a decaying building. He could shoot, but ammo is scarce and the noise would draw unwanted attention.

The build here in minimal, but it’s well framed to suggest that this little scene takes place in a much larger world. I like a lot of the small details here, like the gate being chained shut, and the remains of the phone or power line going into the decaying building.

Let’s Talk About the Zombies

The zombies here, which include some official LEGO Zombies, appear to be of the slow, shambling variety. Based on the rest of the MOC, you get a sense that they’ve been reanimated for some time, and are in pretty rough shape.
