There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.
The Zombie Creation:
This week’s LEGO Zombie creation, “LEGO of the Dead: High Voltage” from AlexNidhogg, has a lot of things going for it: a great build, a nice sense of dread, fantastic photography, and nice editing. This is completely in keeping with Nihdhogg’s work, so make sure you check out his profile for more great stuff.
So What’s Going On?
First off, let’s address the setting of the creation: it’s absolutely amazing. I love the overgrown, broken down industrial look of it. The fact that there are sandbags setup indicates that there was a military presence at one point that was either abandoned or overrun, probably the latter. A lone survivor stands on the roof, and a small horde of zombies shambles toward him through the rubble below. This is just an incredibly well-realized scene that evokes a powerful back story without saying a word.
Let’s Talk About the Zombies
I’ve already assumed that the zombies here are shamblers, so let’s focus on another aspect: I notice that they are all bald. This makes me wonder about how they were infected/created, and if hair loss in a possible side-effect to the process. It immediately suggests radiation to me, especially given the overgrown industrial setting.
Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.
It may be a year after then zombies came to be so they might have had there hair fallout because they are dead so they lost there hair
That’s a pretty reasonable theory.
This is cool
