LEGO Zombie Creation: Gory Potter

There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

The Zombie Creation:

This week’s creation, “Gory Potter” by pricey73 was suggested by Mark (who recently did up an awesome review of Rise of the Governor that you should check out). If you can’t tell from the punny title (and let the record show I don’t mind puns one bit), this creation combines zombies with Harry Potter, and the results are quite horrible.

So What’s Going On?

Sadly, it appears that the zombie plague has shown up at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, and old Harry Potter has succumbed. He will be missed.

The result? A whole lot of dead wizards and witches, devoured by the undead Harry Potter.

Man, when I say it like that, this creation sounds really dark.

Let’s Talk About the Zombies

So Undead Harry Potter appears to have been able to take out quite a few wizards and witches. Now, they might be young and not very powerful yet, but you have to figure some of the older students and faculty are mixed into that pile of bones. That leads me to assume that Zombie Potter must have something that equals the playing field against the wizard. Can Zombie Potter still use magic? Maybe so.

Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.

Mad..

Not only is he a magic zombie, but he has also left a couple of heads skewered on bones in the background…

Bad form that… zombie leaving meat behind, I wonder what he is chasing now 🙂

Wait, just noticed a couple of other little details… he is holding his own arm and his leg is sitting next to him.

Wow, there is so much detail in this little creation, fantastic.

Dave

You bring up a good point, why would Harry leave all that delicious face meat behind?

Foolish Lego

It really is a magic zombie Harry! Zombie Harry somehow managed to put his own fleshy head on a stick…

Dave

God, I didn’t even notice his head in the background there.

Perhaps someone got into the Polyjuice Potions?

“this creation combines zombies with Harry Potter, and the results are quite horrible.”

Horribly awesome. This may be the creepiest thing I’ve seen in a while. I think it’s all the realistic looking blood and gore. Some custom jobs looks terrible but this one really good.

Dave

From the sound of the comments on flickr, this was sort of a happy accident with how he was customizing the fig. It does indeed look really cool.

Thanks for the excellent comments, originally, I wanted the open skeleton to be a clean cut but when the “wound” started melting I thought it looked quite gory! So added Tamiya CLEAR red acrylic paint which gave it a wet, squishy look that I am happy with. Then carried on with the leg etc…..

Dave

That’s really cool, pricey. I love when people can take something that isn’t working the way they expected and turn it into something awesome like this.

It’s the wet look that really does it. The “blood” on the arm he’s holding is great.

Thank you very much Dave. Hopefully it won’t be the last.
Working on gunshot wounds next I think!
