There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.
The Zombie Creation:
This week’s creation, “Romero-Stylized LEGO Zombie Shots” by Bricks of the Dead commentator Galt, is one of those creations that’s light on build, but makes up with it elsewhere. Specifically, through its chaotic looking black-and-white photography, which I think really gives it something special. But then, I’m also a sucker for black and white.
I’m only including one photo here, so make sure you click through and check out the rest of the series.
So What’s Going On?
We’ve got a few survivors huddled in a building with makeshift weapons, and zombies trying to get in to eat them. It’s a pretty classic setup, and one that doesn’t really need to much of me prattling on about.
What I like here is that the simple setup gives way to a sort of kinetic action, accentuated by the black and white photography. It feels sort of cheap and slimy – in a good way. Like your favorite cheap0 exploration flick. Galt goes after a look, and captures it perfectly here.
Let’s Talk About the Zombies
We don’t see a lot of the zombies, and what we do is pretty low key. They hang out on the periphery of this creation, a slow but unstoppable menace. The survivors might take out a wave or two of these zombies, but in the end, they’re doomed.
Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.
Hah. Y’know, when I saw the thumbnail for this on Facebook, I didn’t realize the big swirl at the center was the back of someone’s head. It looked like the guy in the baseball hat was curled up under a blanket-piece trying to hide. I kept trying to figure out if it was a little custom bit or something someone had gotten very clever with… 😀
Oh man, that sounds super creepy!
No kidin’ mate, in fact that’s just down right weird!
shut up you don’t know what you talking about
I really enjoy the classic feel to this one. Reminds me of Glenn! And the face is priceless.
cool lego walking dead,like ,like.
