There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.
The Zombie Creation:
This week’s creation, “Grocery List” by Immediate Lego, is a nice, small build. There’s not a ton of fancy technique going on, but it’s a cool little post-apocalyptic survival story that’s extremely nicely staged. And, if you look closely at the zombies/mutants, there’s some pretty nasty-look modifications going on there. It looks like they were maybe drilled out, but the effect works quite well within the context of the scene (although I must say I would never dream of doing anything like that to my figs).

So What’s Going On?
Several survivors in the post-apocalyptic wasteland find their way to a grocery store that is surprisingly untouched. The manage to find a fair amount of food and water, but there’s always the catch. The catch here is, obviously enough, that the store has a bunch of zombies in it.
Luckily, our wise-cracking heroes are more than up for the task, dispatching zombies with reckless abandon.
Let’s Talk About the Zombies Mutants
Well, the description in Flickr says “mutants”, but they look enough like zombies to me. As I mentioned above, it looks like the figures have been modified, which to me looks like burns or some other sort of “battle damage”. Since they’re described as mutants, I’m going to call them radiation burns, since that sounds cooler to me. And yes, I realize that the mutants still have hair so it’s unlikely that those are actual radiation-related injuries. I’m going with it anyway.

Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.
I didn’t realize they were mutants instead of zombies. Is that a long neck or a simulated head shot? Kind of looks like the entire head was blown off and it looks way cool.
I assumed a headshot, and yeah, way cool.
this is Immediate lego, thanks for blogging me, and yes it is a head shot, since it is a SCAR H that did the damage I suppose decapitation would be possible.
of and BTW inside secret, those brown lego cans are suppose to be root beer cans because I love root beer
That is a genius way of showing the decapitation!! Looks like blood and gore trailing the air a la 300 style.
My pleasure, Collin. It’s a cool little MOC.
And I love the detail about the Root Beer cans.
thats one hell of a way to ruin stewarts jacket
