There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Friday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

This week’s creation, “Zombie: Genesis” from NickDurron, is an absolutely fantastic behind-the-scenes style brickfilm in the style of a DVD extra (just feast your eyes on the little animated section headers). It’s rare to see production values in stop motion brickfilms like this, so just sit back and enjoy:

Pretty awesome, isn’t it? Just imagine the hours upon hours of work that must have gone into this. I like to imagine all that painstaking work everytime I get the idea of doing a stop motion flick. Best leave that to the experts.

Have you seen a great zombie-related creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.

  1. I have two words for this–HOLY CRAP! I think that’s the best stop action film with Legos I’ve ever seen! This used to be my first favorite:http://youtu.be/smETLCCPTVo

    • Isn’t it great? That black ops thing is fantastic too. Usually action stuff doesn’t work that well in LEGO but man do it sing in that vid.

  2. Duuuuuude. That must have taken AGES. I’ve made a few of these vids, and some of ’em I’ve even animated mouths on, but this is fantastic. Lighting is spot-on, animation is top-quality, and the way it tells a funny story and gags in a “Making Of” Featurette is awesome. This is what studios should do for featurettes.

  3. At the beginning, I was thinking, “This is why I stopped watching these featurettes on DVDs, they just keep saying the same thing on every one.” Then they said they used real zombies and I was like, “Whu-?”
Now I see the cliche opening was a clever misdirection for a very non-cliche, well done and funny parody video.

    • Whoever put this together deserves some sort of award. I love this video.

  4. se vcs acham esse d+ procurem no youtube lego black ops é muito bom os movimentos
    que fizeram com os personagens

  5. I’ve made a few of those, you can check some of them out here: http://www.youtube.com/user/legoped?feature=mhum but they’re nothing compared to Nick Durron, I saw this video back in like december because it was entered into the same contest I entered to (it won first place.)

    • Those look pretty good, Legoped. Some nicely done action.

  6. Thank you! I love good feedback.
