Zombie Cliché Lookout:
In certain professions (police officers, fire fighters, doctors, etc.) there is supposed to be an overiding sense of duty and purpose that supersedes all concerns. News anchors, for instance, are expected to put aside worries about the safety of their loved ones and make sure that the public is well informed about whatever calamity is befalling them. Characters who have trouble maintaining this sense of duty are often seen as weak or cowardly.

The powers that be at news stations are generally depicted as singularly focused on ratings. They are often willing to ask far too much of their staff, put their reporters at risk, and hand-wave serious issues if it means getting the scoop over the competition. A widespread zombie outbreak generally means anchors and reporters will be required to sacrifice everything to stay on the air longer than the other stations.

  2. Well, his face sure doesn’t show any concern.
