Zombie Creation – LEGO Zombies

There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

The Zombie Creation:

This week’s creation, appropriately called “LEGO Zombies” by our old buddy Retrogarde, doesn’t really feature much in the way of building. But it’s packed with zombies, and I love the perspective. That’s good enough for me.

This is a lot of LEGO zombies

So What’s Going On?

In this creation, the survivors are being cornered by a rather sizable horde of zombies. In the foreground we see a lone gunman, taking careful aim at the throng of walking dead in front of him, hoping, perhaps, that they’ll feast of the dead girl to give him time to escape.

The perspective on this shot is fantastic. Getting us right behind the protagonist so that we’re seeing things from more or less his point of view is really effective.

Let’s Talk About the Zombies

Here’s the thing that I like about the zombies in this creation: there are a lot of them. Yes, that’s a little simplistic, but the way they dominate the background of the shot is impressive. We also get a nice bit of variety; no two zeds look the same here. Most of them also use the always great Collectible Minifigs as a base, which is an added bonus (there are lots of Citizen Brick custom zombie faces in the crowd, for those who are curious).

I also dig the fact that there are a couple dead zombies on the ground in front of the horde, neat gunshot wounds on their foreheads.

Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.

It is quite excellent, I personally love the hazmat zombie and the cracking to his visor, I also am very fond of how they just used a desk or tabletop for it instead of a big baseplate, I think that having them just standing free provided for much more angling, and it adds a sort of, I don’t know, movement? Yes movement to the scene.

Ha! Thank you for the nice words and all but I honestly feel sheepish as hell about this photo. I just threw it together one night to see how my zombie horde was coming together and didn’t pay any mind to what was in the background. Okay, I stole my son’s Lego police car to spice it up a little bit, but that’s it.
But thank you, it really means a lot to me!

You do good work, even when you’re half-assing it!
