Zombie Cliche Lookout: The Scene of the Crime

When people in your survival group go missing, and you want to find them (because, let’s be honest, sometimes you won’t want to find them), the first thing you’ll want to do is head back to wherever you saw them last. You never know, maybe they’ll still be there, just sitting and waiting for you. More realistically, you’ll be simply looking for clues. These clues can be a lot of things: blood from a fight, zombie corpses, dropped items, footprints leading in the direction they went, etc. Heck, you might get lucky and find a message from them, possibly written in blood.

Of course all of the above tends to be best case scenario things. You might, for instance, find absolutely nothing. Or, you might find your friends wandering around as zombies. In this situation, at least, you can put them out of their misery, but that’s a small consolation.

About this Episode:

I have to say, I’m quite excited about closing out this little story arc. I’ve been storing all the interior sets from Ted and Vicky’s house for ages now, and have really been wanting to tear them down to make up that room. Also, a couple of them have broken in storage and needed to be rebuilt, which is always a pain in the butt.

Discussion Question: Looking for Clues

In today’s discussion question, you get to be Barb or Clark. You’re looking for some sign of Vicky and the kids. What sort of things are you looking to find to tell you whether they survived, if they’re injured, and where they might be? And, when you find clues, what sort of conclusions might you be able to draw from them? For instance, what would blood tell you? A dropped weapon?

Congratulations, Dave! You deserve this! 😃😃

      • Yay me!

  2. First thing I’d be looking for is crying kids. Why? Because if they survived the zombie and escaped somehow they’d quite obviously be crying rather loudly by now. That is, if they didn’t get eaten by zombies or turned into one.

Second thing I’d be looking for is signs of a scuffle, obviously because Vicky’s struggle with the zombie should’ve left some marks on the grass. That might be hard for Dave to depict in LEGO blocks, however, so we’ll just have to wait and see how obvious that becomes. 😀

Lastly, any possessions the group might have had that they would’ve probably dropped would be something to look for. Blood is always a sign of some struggle of some sort. A dropped weapon probably means someone panicked and let it go in the heat of the fight with the zombie.

Damn good point. It’s hard to keep kids quiet and calm if they’re upset.

  3. “Umm…this must be some sort of magic trick!” 🎩🐇

    Cliche:
Hmm…I’d love to be as lucky as to get a message written in blood!😊
    Lol!
But, anyway, every ZA-Poc group should have a rendezvous point! This would help a lot! You’d still look for them if they didn’t show up (you can’t just assume they’re dead), but at least you know that they’d know where to go. And after a while, if they still haven’t shown up, you can be pretty sure they’re dead. And you can start to move on. 🙁😔

    About this episode:
Been loving this little story arc!
Hopefully my Clarky can make it out alive, and we can go visit the gang at the cabin! 🏚

    Question:
For the kids, I’d look anywhere that they could fit. Under cars, and that’s about it! Haha! Maybe in a dog house. Definitely look for blood. And ,if there is, check if it’s fresh human blood, or Icky-Sticky Zombie Goo! 😰

I don’t see any blood on the ground, but I also don’t see a zombie carcass. Lol! So I’d have to be very careful! 🔫👀🏹
And I think it’d be very hard to pick up on clues like footprints when its dark out, and you’re in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. 👣👣👣

    🔮Word of the Day🔮

    “Baffled”

“Clark was Baffled as to where Vicky could be. Little did he know, she was sneaking up to stab him in the eye socket with a screwdriver.” 😊 😲”Take that, you coward!”😲

    • Vicky would be pretty pissed, wouldn’t she?

  4. That would be something, if Vicky was in the house and got her hands on a gun. If she shot Clark. It would mirror their arrival, when Gene got shot. Except this time around, it’d be the good guys doing the shooting. 🔫😄

    • That it would. They did have quite a few guns too. Not beyond the realm of possibility.

  5. I love the expression of Clark in this episode, it is just spot on.
The frown eyebrows sort of convey this: “Hell.. I am being bossed around by a woman pointing a gun at me… and my conscience is not exactly clear… I’m pissed and tired… I wonder if I’ll get a chance to grab that gun… and oooooh donut!” Ok, maybe not the last bit, that would be a Homer moment.. but we all have our flaws…

    • “but we all have our flaws…”

People in my office are wondering what the hell I just laughed at. Thanks for that, Greg.

      • Lol! 😀

  6. If I’m Clark, I don’t want Barb to annoy me with questions or blaming… So I’ll take my pipe and strike her on the head when she turns her back… Then left her for dead and take the truck… See ya!

Clark might be the villain in this story!

    • Lol!

  7. So the stand off between Barb and Clark was resolved off screen? I suspect it was only postponed.

If you get lost / separated, experts say you should stay where you are and wait to be found. Zombies may not make this practical for Vicky. Hopefully she won’t panic and will try to hole up somewhere close by or at least try and leave some sort of obvious clue for Barb to follow.
