Zombie Cliché Lookout:
The saying goes “Better one in the head than the walking dead”, but sometimes characters take things well beyond that basic advice. If you’re penned in without any avenue of escape, hope of rescue, or means of procuring food and water, then things are indeed bleak. If things don’t improve after your supplies run out, you’re faced with a tough decision: slowly waste away, run into the horde of zombies and take a few of the bastards with you, or just end it all. Now your truely heroic characters will make one last, foolhardy stand, but those with fewer grand aspirations will probably be looking for the easiest way out.

  1. So THATS why. Makes more sense than the alternatives.

    • See, I told everyone I had a good reason.

  2. I love that last shot. No. Joke.

    • Thanks! I’m quite happy with how it came out.

    • Indeed! A silent frame can say so much.

      • I think it’s much more the expression Dave captured on the guy’s face. Well done’ indeed, Dave! 😉

      • Thanks guys. Stewart and Cheryl are supposed to be exchanging worried glances in the background too, but I don’t think that comes through as well.

  3. Thing is, I’d like to know what I’d do in that situation…

Actually, I’ll take a rain check on that discovery. Great pic of the last frame, the way you just caught the worried frown is great.

    • Let me guess Ross, you’re going to go out in a blaze of glory?

Thanks! I’m flattered that everyone seems to be digging that last panel.

      • Well, I /am/ a Brikwarrior, so I’d like to think so! 😀

Dave, would you say that your photography skills have improved after running BotD for this long?

      • I do think they’ve improved. I’ve got a lot to learn, but I think I’m getting more interesting shots and getting better about telling a story visually as I go. Of course, I’ve got a hell of a lot of learning to do still.

  4. There’s also the combined ending… hold out for as long as you can, then, when you cannot hold out any longer and there’s no chance of rescue, go down in a blaze of glory, taking as many of the bastards with you and saving the last bullet for yourself…

    • Ah yes, the Omega Plan. That’s always an awesome way to go.
