Zombie Cliché Lookout:
There’s always a moment of quiet right before some poor bastard gets bitten and things spin right out of control. Sometimes the characters are sharing a small moment together, or perhaps everyone is distracted by the task in front of them. Regardless of the reason, their doom is quietly sneaking up – in full view of the audience – behind them, patiently waiting to strike as soon as the tension has been built up to ridiculous levels.

  1. Talk about the dead rising. You’re not making a teaser webcomic for an upcoming movie by any chance, are you? 😀

Wait till the Doc sees the rise that dead guy will get out of the cop! 😀

    • Hah, it does sort of look like a movie teaser, doesn’t it.

  2. “Hi!”
“My name is Jim! The Zombie”
    “Omanomanomanoma”
Good times Mine Craft… Good times.

    • I still need to check that out. I bought it ages ago, played it briefly, and haven’t touched it since.

      • Random, but I guess this might just be me and some people I know. Why doesn’t he look behind him? Am I the only paranoid about some one coming up from behind me kind of person that I put my back to a wall so I can see everyone, so if something goes down I’m the first to know about it? Silly unprepared should-be-citizens. :3

      • Well you have to remember that his partner is in very, very bad shape right now. He’s worried and not paying attention to the things going on around him.

  3. Eat The Cop First!!!! We Don’t Like Him :D!

    • Yikes, rough crowd.

      • Eat Necrospike first! That would be even more ridiculous!

Oh, right… wrong ridiculous. I forgot.

  4. Bwa-ha-ha!

…oh, wait. Not _ridiculous_ ridiculous levels.

    I’ll see myself out.

    • Hah!

  5. This also remind me of Dead Snow! This reminds me of when the main guy thinks he just killed the zombie, when in the background, the zombie sits up, looks around, and gets back into the fight!

    • Is that when he gets bitten in the junk?

      • Nuh-uh, that’s later in the movie. And the guy that gets his junk bitten off is the smuck guy with a track suit brighter then Paulie Walnuts. 😉

  6. Dun dun, dun dun, dun dun dun dun, dadadadadadadundadaduuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! Die incompetent fools! >:D

    • The doctor and nurse are just trying to, like. do their jobs, man.

      • Of course, that means they’ll get bitten first! 😉

  7. Hey Dave, wanted to let you know I’m still following this awesome comic! Goes much slower when you go from reading 100 pages in a day to “only” 2 a week… But I’m still very much enjoying it. 🙂

I believe I’ve made some real progress on a lego zombie comic of my own, by the way! I’ve built a small scene or two, and got some characters (and zombies of course!) set up. I think I may even have taken enough pictures for the first episode or so… And I’ve also set up a website/blog on wordpress for it. Unfortunately, I was cut off from my LEGO collection due to a week-long trip to Florida (about 4 states away from where I am!) on business, so I don’t have anything to show for it… yet! 😉

And that was one of the best parts of Dead Snow! It was so funny to see his reaction after he had to cut his own arm off, only to get bitten in the crotch! BEST NORWEGIAN ZOMBIE FLICK EVER! Haha.

Anyway I’m very much looking forward to Wednesday’s comic.

    • Hah, yeah she does slow down, doesn’t she?

You could always post some preliminary stuff up on Flickr or the Brick Comic Network and grab some valuable feedback. I’d love to see what you’d come up with thus far.

    • Great! 😀 Another lego comic! About zombes!
Dave looks like you have some competition!

      • Looks like. That’s good competition drives innovation.

  8. I really would like to put some of what I have so far up – but unfortunately I have yet to even upload almost any pics to my computer! Unless you count the one pic I took for my site banner before I had to leave for Florida….

And I doubt you could really call my comic “competition!” My comic won’t be going the extra mile with weekly commentary on zombie clichés, it will just be a story I thought up. It may actually end up being quite different… And hopefully at least half as enjoyable as Bricks of the Dead!

Anyway, I’m glad I’ve caught your attention Dave, I’ll be sure to put SOMETHING up SOMEWHERE somtimes soon. 🙂

    • Looking forward to it.

  9. 5….4….3….2…..1……

    • All we need is some insidious sounding music in the background.

  10. I read all 106 comics in one day and I couldn’t read most of it. Not until the last 20 or 30 comics. Still its an as awsome as chuck norris comic strip! (=^}

    • You couldn’t read it?

  11. no i read it on my phone. the screen is only about 1 1/4 inch.

  12. The only experience I have in a hospital is as a patient, but I do wonder how realistic it is for them to just leave a cadaver lying around. I get that the doctor and nurse are busy, but shouldn’t someone be moving the body to the morgue or something? Do they really just leave them lying around? I would have thought they’d want to clear the bed at least – isn’t a shortage of beds one of the more common problems hospitals have?
