Zombie Creation: The Working Dead

There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

The Zombie Creation:

This week’s LEGO Zombie Creation, “The Working Dead” is another non-LEGO creation. That’s right, people, two in a row. The reason I’m doing another video (a series of videos in point of fact) is that the person who made the series reached out to me just prior to its release, and I thought it was really cool. Here’s the first video in the series, you can watch the rest at http://www.theworkingdead.tv/watch.

So What’s Going On?

It’s half workplace comedy, half zombie apocalypse survival drama. Think The Office meets The Walking Dead. “The Working Dead” focuses on the employees of a small life insurance company, or at least those who managed to survive the initial outbreak. Everyone runs back to the boss’ house, where they strategize about how to survive, as well as how they can keep the business alive.

We get a good mix of characters, each with their own idiosyncrasies and deep character flaws, all of which contribute to the comedy. In the group, there is one character who appears to be equipped and able to survive, but no one cares to listen to her. It’s a pretty fun setup.

Let’s Talk About the Zombies

The zombies of “The Working Dead” are your classic, Romero-style slow shamblers, and that’s exactly what we like to see.

Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.
