Zombie Creation: LEGO Zombie Fighterson February 28, 2013 at 12:00 am
There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Thursday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.
The Zombie Creation:
This week’s creation, “LEGO Zombie Fighters” by Raptor5120, is something a little different from what we normally feature. Rather than a static MOC or a stop-motion Brickfilm, this is a CGI short that’s heavy on the action. Check it out:
So What’s Going On?
We’ve got three survivors in the middle of a busy downtown. They’re heavily armed, which is good for them considering the huge army of zombies pouring down on them.
There’s a lot of action here: one survivor has an M16, one a pump-action shotgun, and a third an assortment of knives. All of them seem perfectly adept at taking out zombies, but I’m guessing their ammo is going to run out before the zeds do.
Let’s Talk About the Zombies
There are three things I really like about the zombies in this video:
- They’re the classic, Romero shambler zombies we all love around here
- They are all the LEGO® Collectible Minifig Zombie, which is fun
- And there are a lot of them
Some of you might not be too keen on numbers two – who doesn’t like a little variety, after all? – but I think it’s an interesting creative choice. It makes the zombies seem that much more impersonal and anonymous.
Have you seen a great zombie creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.
