Zombie Creation of the Week: Emergence

There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Friday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

This week’s creation, “Emergence” by Rick_3691, isn’t exactly about zombies, but it’s pretty easy to imagine zombies exisiting in the post-apocalyptic world of this build.

My morning walk with my Gieger counter.

There’s a lot to like with this creation from the fantastic use of the collectible minifig to the simple Geiger counter. I think my favorite aspect of the build it the rich foliage on the outside of the vault. You get a real sense that a lot of time has passed since our intrepid survivor interred himself inside; his haggard face just adds to that. I’m also a big fan of the rounded vault door, which is a nice touch.

To be honest, there’s not a lot for me to be critical of here. The brick-built bird in the cherry tree is a bit large, but I kind of like that too.

Have you seen a great zombie-related creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.

And don’t forget: ZombieMutts and I are hosting a contest. You’re basically building a zombie creation of some sort to try to win a custom zombie and a hazmat figure. Check out the full rules here.

  1. Poor guy, the years have taken to much of an effect on him. The reason he leaves that vault surpasses me. Only the youthful or similar generally should be trying such things.

    • Perhaps he wants to look on nature’s beauty one last time before dying.

  2. Brilliant. The door…..I love the door!

    • Isn’t that fantastic. I love vault doors in general, but the splash of yellow on this one just makes it look even cooler. Not to mention the rounded opening behind the door. That’s just a nice touch right there.

  3. i really like it. i wonder why no one has done a mid-evil themed moc. i want to do one but my dad banned me from legos.

    • A medieval MOC could be outstanding.

    • ” i want to do one but my dad banned me from legos.”

      explain

      • my dad says that when you turn twelve toys are no longer able to be played with. they are passed down or donated.

        • Well that’s a shame.

        • i’m 11 i know people who build with legos inthey’re 50’s(no not dave duh)(he’s like 30????i don’t know).

        • I’m 30

        • Well your father must be a jack of no play.

        • I don’t look at legos like toys. IMO they are models with no boundaries or fixed intentions. Lego are making a substantial step towards marketing to adults who are willing to spend great sums of money on larger sets.

I will never understand why being creative stops being a hobby for most as they get older.

I have lots of hobbies and interests…lego is just one of them.

        • @ dave wow i must be pshycic.(jk)
@zombiemutts I also think of them like that not so much a toy more of a designing tool.

    • HEY! YOU! ZOMBIES!… Go to debate camp and stop posting on this master piece, ya nub.

      • ?

        • I know Zombies! as a friend, he be mah dm yarp. And what have ya, so just makin’ funz.

        • Oh, okay.

      • ‘=^(
        what? why debate camp?

        • TBH? I think I did make a mild mistake…. But yes, go learn how to debate your way through a reasonably hard situation.

Lol the correct user name is LegoAddict.. Ahhh.. Yes..Hehe.

  4. did anyone notice htta you can stack other featured creations onto new ones to make storylines.i have one but need more reasearch.

    • All together that’d be one hell of a creation.

  5. i love how he made it look like a forest and the cliff walls.

    • Very nicely done.

  6. i really hope you know i’m joking here and i’m not a jerk…i think ths is murphy in 45 years JK!

    • 45? That’s pretty old for a cop on a swat team.

  7. Something that would make this better is if there was something lurking behind

    • Hah, I kind of like the tranquility of it.

  8. I keep on thinking of that one vault in fallout where it’s just one guy.
