There’s a lot of zombie stuff out there, and most of it is crap. People like to jump on bandwagons and produce quick tie-ins rather than investing love and effort into their creations. Luckily for you, I’m here to help separate the wheat from the chaff. Check back every Friday, when I’m going to share the coolest zombie-related creation I can find out there on the web.

This week’s creation, “Initial Testing“, comes to us from ZombieMutts. He’s a frequent commenter here, so most of you should be familiar. “Initial Testing” centers around the classic mix of science and the supernatural. In this case, (mad) scientists researching the undead. My favorite thing about this build is the creepiness we get from the white, sterile environment and how it cleverly makes you sympathetic for the monster. Seriously, don’t you want that zombie to escape and start tearing stuff up?

We can learn so much from these zombies

Science!

Believe it or not, these are Mr. Mutts’ first builds (or at least the first ones he’s shared publicly). I think we’re in store for some great stuff.

Have you seen a great zombie-related creation out on the web? Are you working on the next great zombie MOC as we speak? Well you had better let us know right away, otherwise we’ll never be able to include it here.

  1. Nope that first pic was the first lego scene I have ever created since I was a wee little lad. Thanks for posting!

    • Well then I can’t wait to see what you come up with once you get more creations under your belt.

  2. wow this is amazing………..great job!(applause)……(loud applause)………(very loud applause)………..(VERY VERY LOUD APPLAUSE!!!)

    • Hey Mikey, I think he likes it.

  3. Want to.. Kill everyone in room.. And.. start.. Breaking.. Things… Zombies ._.

    • Must…. resist… violent… urges…

      • Only slightly.. Only slightly.

  4. Awesome use of the Hazmat Guy from series 4!

    • Isn’t that great?

  5. Typo alert! I think Dave’s last line in the second paragraph should be: “Seriously, don’t you want that zombie to escape and start tearing stuff up!” 😉

    • Fixed! Thanks for pointing it out.

  6. Wow, nice one Mutts! Man, I need to get my grubby little paws on some of those hazmat guys… They’re great!

    Anyway, real great stuff!

  7. Thanks again everyone….series 5 will be out soon by the way.

  8. I love the zombies in the pictures! They are from miniBIGS.com I’m pretty sure.

    • yessir thats correct. There are also a few legit LEGO heads that are “aliens” and a few other random themes that look exactly like a zombie that are FAR cheaper. Plus there is one official Zombie LEGO head from series 1. The best business plan LEGO has ever implemented is making bricks that surpass the age barrier so they appeal to older hobbyists with debit cards. : )

I’m pretty sure that’s what saved the company from their previous troubles.

      • I just love your creative brain! (and your Gravatar picture!)

        • Thank you sir but I fear you just marked me for certain death when the zombiepocolypse is upon us with the brain comment 🙁

        • Umm…. If I were you mutts, I’d start running now. He might already be turning…

  9. HAH :^)

  10. i REALLY want that hasmat guy i am DESPARATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • tyzan8….look very closely at the helmet…if you know a place that sells minifigs you can feel the package and likely tell which ones carry the hazmat guy. Of course that dawned on me after I paid and embarrassingly large sum (relatively) to ensure that I had them off Amazon.

Lesson learned…all good things in life flow through bricklink.com….

      • the only problem is there are’nt too many stores around my area that sell them…..might try bricklink.

  11. Yay, this is awesome! 🙂
    Poor zombie!

  12. The lighting is good
